Who we are

Just Find & Dandy is a website that shares curated Amazon finds in fashion, home decor, and everyday essentials. Our website address is https://justfindanddandy.com. The site is operated by Townsend Designs, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to keep it in plain English. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

Data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site. Depending on how you use it, that may include:

Information you give us

  • Contact forms. If you write to us through a contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
  • Email sign-ups. If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect what’s in the comment form (usually your name, email address, and website, if you add one). We also collect your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
  • Messages and social media. If you message us or tag us on social media, we may see and respond to what you share, under the rules of that platform.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data. Through Google Analytics, we see things like pages you view, how long you stay, the links you click, your approximate location (city or region level), your device type, browser, and the website that referred you.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider and WordPress record basic information such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your visit. This helps keep the site running and secure.
  • Cookies. See the Cookies section below.

Information about affiliate clicks

When you click an Amazon link on our site, Amazon may tell us that a purchase was made through our link so we can earn a commission. We do not receive your name, payment details, or what’s in your Amazon account.

We don’t knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we don’t ask you for payment card details on this site.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Run, maintain, and improve the site and the content we share
  • Reply to your messages and questions
  • Send you emails you signed up for, such as new finds, deals, and updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Review and approve comments, and filter out spam
  • Understand which posts and products readers like so we can make better content
  • Keep the site secure and prevent misuse
  • Track affiliate referrals so we can earn commissions
  • Meet our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Third-party services

We use trusted outside services to run the site. These services may collect or process your information under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.

  • WordPress and Namecheap EasyWP (hosting). Our site runs on WordPress and is hosted by Namecheap EasyWP. Your visit data, form submissions, and comments are stored on their servers.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It uses cookies and similar technology to collect usage information. Learn more and manage your settings at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google Search Console. This helps us see how people find our site in Google search. It shows us search-related information, not personal details about you.
  • MailerLite (email). If you subscribe, your email address (and name, if provided) is stored with MailerLite, which sends our emails. MailerLite may collect information such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Contact forms. What you submit is delivered to us by email and may be stored in our website’s database.
  • Amazon Associates. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click an Amazon link, Amazon may set cookies on your device and collect information under Amazon’s own privacy notice. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.
  • Spam detection. Comments and form submissions may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
  • Gravatar. If you leave a comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
  • Social media. We link to our social media accounts. If you click those links, you leave our site, and the social platform’s privacy policy applies. We aren’t responsible for how those platforms handle your information.
  • Embedded content. Posts may include embedded content such as videos, images, or posts from other websites. Embedded content behaves the same way as if you had visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, add their own tracking, and monitor how you interact with the embedded content, including if you’re logged in to an account on that site.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or if the business is sold or reorganized.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. We and our partners use them to make the site work, remember your choices, and understand how the site is used.

What you may see on our site

  • Analytics cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us how visitors use the site.
  • Affiliate cookies. Amazon may set cookies when you click an affiliate link so purchases can be credited to us.
  • Comment cookies. If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies so you don’t have to retype them next time. These last one year.
  • Embedded content and social cookies. Content from other sites, such as videos or social posts, may set their own cookies.
  • Login cookies (site administrators and registered users only). If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser. When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last one year. If you choose “Remember Me,” your login lasts two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies. When an administrator edits or publishes a post, a cookie saves the post ID. It has no personal data and expires after one day.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Many browsers and devices also offer a “Do Not Track” or privacy setting you can use.

How long we keep your data

  • Comments. If you leave a comment, the comment and its details are kept indefinitely. This lets us recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for review.
  • Contact messages. We keep these as long as we need them to reply and handle your request, and for a reasonable time afterward.
  • Email list. We keep your information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Analytics data. Kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.
  • Registered users (if any). If you register on our site, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete it at any time, except your username, which can’t be changed. Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
  • Legal and security needs. We may keep some information longer when required for legal, administrative, or security reasons.

Your rights and choices

You have control over your information:

  • Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve given us, as an exported file.
  • Correction. You can ask us to fix information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to erase the personal data we hold about you. This doesn’t include data we’re required to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
  • Unsubscribe. You can leave our email list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us.
  • Cookies and tracking. You can manage cookies as described above.

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or certain U.S. states such as California), you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, such as the right to object to or restrict certain uses of your information, or to know what categories of personal information we collect. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To make a request, email us at hello@justfindanddandy.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, and within any time frame the law requires.

Children’s privacy

Our site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please email hello@justfindanddandy.com and we will delete it promptly.

Note that our content may include products for kids, such as gift guides, but those posts are written for parents and adult shoppers.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using a reputable hosting provider and keeping our website software up to date. However, no website or internet transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please use caution when sharing personal details online, and avoid including sensitive information in comments or contact forms.

Media and uploads

If visitors are able to upload images to the site, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Anyone who visits the site can download images and extract location data from them.

Links to other sites

Our posts contain links to Amazon and other websites. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or privacy practices. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make significant changes, we may also let you know on the site or by email. Please check back occasionally.
